NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 14, 2003
Today, at the National Retail Federation (NRF) trade show, The Descartes Systems Group Inc., (Nasdaq:DSGX), (TSX:DSG), a trusted provider of logistics solutions, released enhancements to its visibility solution, Descartes 20/20 Visibility TM, designed to better address the retail market. Descartes experts are demonstrating the solution all day at NRF in New York City at Booth #768 in Logistics Lane.
Providing benefits to retail organizations needing to track time-sensitive merchandise, such as seasonal and promotional items with tight time windows, 20/20 Visibility allows the tracking of goods across multiple modes of transportation and trading partners. This enables accurate reporting and exception monitoring even when purchase orders and advance shipping notices undergo many changes and is particularly ideal for retailers whose freight is controlled by thousands of suppliers across multiple supply chain networks.
Working with retail and buyer organizations over the past two years, Descartes' enhancements to 20/20 Visibility gives organizations increased line item level visibility with flexibility in role-based exception monitoring, the ability to track buyer and supplier comments and advanced reporting features with user definable organization, item and SKU (stock keeping unit) hierarchies.
"Continuous product innovation is an important factor in developing market-leading solutions that customers both want and need," said Manuel Pietra, Descartes' co-chief executive officer and president. "The enhancements to 20/20 Visibility provides customers and prospects with improved supply chain visibility while also enabling them to receive quick time-to-value by leveraging the already 6,000 connected companies on the Descartes Global Logistics Services Network(TM)."
The enhanced solution will be generally available in February 2003. Companies interested in receiving more information about 20/20 Visibility should contact Paul Briggs at 519-746-6114, ext. 2021 or pbriggs@descartes.com.
