On Thursday, January 30, 2003, Lou Reed will appear at Barnes and Noble in New York City's Union Square for a Q and A session with fans as well as a CD signing. Reed will be signing copies of his latest album, "The Raven," which will have been released by Sire/Reprise Records on January 28, 2003.

Inspired by the Edgar Allan Poe and his work, "The Raven" is a two-hour excursion into Poe's obsessive world as filtered through Reed's eclectic sensibility. The album is being released in both one and two-CD versions. "The Raven" features guest appearances by Laurie Anderson, Elizabeth Ashley, David Bowie, Steve Buscemi, Ornette Coleman, the Blind Boys of Alabama, Willem Dafoe, Antony and Kate & Anna McGarrigle.

To further support the album release, Lou has partnered with America Online to unveil the worldwide exclusive of his new song, "Who Am I?" (Tripitena's Song) through AOL Keyword: First Listen. Also, beginning January 27, Lou's entire "Raven" album can be heard through AOL's Listening Party. To build excitement for Lou's latest recording, AOL Music produced an exclusive in-studio performance of Lou, which will be available exclusively on February 4 at AOL Keyword: Sessions. Performing three songs from "The Raven" as well as hits including "Perfect Day" & "Sweet Jane" for Sessions@AOL, fans are sure to enjoy this dynamic performance. Lou also worked with AOL to create his own DJ radio station selecting songs from his favorite artists such as Al Green, Dion, Laurie Anderson & Jimi Hendrix.
