Sony Selects Genesis Microchip Processor for VAIO PC Display; New Bundled VAIO PC Features Genesis gmZAN2 in 15-inch LCD Flat Panel Display

Genesis Microchip Inc. (Nasdaq:GNSS), a leading provider of display image processors for consumer and PC-display products, today announced that Sony Corporation has selected Genesis Microchip's gmZAN2 display image processor for its 15-inch flat panel LCD monitor to be shipped as part of a bundled VAIO desktop PC solution. Sony's family of VAIO PCs represents the integration of audio, video, communications and information technology capabilities. Available this month, the new VAIO PCs will be introduced in Japan.

The Genesis gmZAN2 enables flat panel monitors with resolutions up to XGA to display high-quality images, cost-effectively and reliably. It offers advanced scaling capability featuring an enhanced and adaptive scaling algorithm for optimal image quality. The chip also features automatic detection of input format, auto-configuration and an integrated On-Screen Display (OSD).
