PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 29, 2003

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) today announced that it has completed global International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 registration of the company's environmental, health and safety management system (EHSMS). Agilent now has a total of 24 manufacturing sites as well as its company-wide program certified to ISO 14001, an international standard for environmental management systems.

ISO 14001 certification is recognized worldwide as confirmation that a company effectively manages its impact on the environment. Agilent committed to ISO 14001 certification in July 2000 and, since that time, has added 24 manufacturing sites to the companywide certificate through a program of site audits by independent evaluation teams.

"This is a very significant milestone for Agilent because it recognizes our continued commitment in the area of environmental responsibility," said Bill Sullivan, executive vice president and chief operating officer. "Agilent's environment and sustainability commitment is good for business. It drives our operations to become more efficient and profitable and helps us to be a better corporate citizen."

In order to verify the continued effectiveness of its EHSMS and maintain ISO 14001 registration, Agilent will undergo independent surveillance audits conducted by Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQi) every six months. Additional information on Agilent's ISO 14001 programs can be found on the Web at www.agilent.com/environment/environment.html.> About Agilent Technologies
