> Dr. Hallowell will discuss practical methods for coping with difficult situations in the office and outline strategies for turning worry into action. He will also discuss quick stress reduction techniques and longer term programs for managing worry.According to Dr. Hallowell, "Stress is inescapable. Enter most any workplace today and you're likely to find that stress levels are high, and for some it's at toxic levels. At the same time, a certain amount of stress is necessary to give us the energy and motivation we need to deal with life's challenges. The key to handling stress successfully is striking a balance. Relatively simple techniques can make a big difference in a person's ability to deal with stress effectively."
Early registrants will receive two weeks of free, unlimited access to Managing Workplace Stress, an online training module based on the teachings of Dr. Hallowell. This module is one of 33 topics covered in Harvard ManageMentor(R), the most popular online reference program for business managers. Published by Harvard Business School Publishing, Harvard ManageMentor provides practical advice, tools and techniques that help managers and project managers tackle the daily challenges of business.
"Harvard ManageMentor is designed as a just-in-time performance support tool for busy managers. Users can access it quickly and easily to immediately enhance on-the-job effectiveness. Managers tell us they like the module based on Dr. Hallowell's content because it gives them concrete ways to deal with their own or others' stress and worry," said Anne Briggs, product director, HBSP. "This audio conference is another way for us to share best practices with people who can really use this information to make a difference on and off the job."
