ScanSource Announces Quarterly Revenues
Business Wire, Jan 3, 2003
Business Editors, High Tech Writers
GREENVILLE, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 3, 2003
ScanSource, Inc. (Nasdaq: SCSC), a leading value-added distributor of specialty technology products for the reseller market, today announced that revenues for the quarter ended December 31, 2002 were slightly above the midpoint of the revenue range it had previously provided in October 2002 of $235-255 million.
"Two weeks ago, we had concerns about softness in the market and felt that it would be a struggle to finish strong enough to materially exceed the low end of our range of $235 million," said Mike Baur, President and CEO of ScanSource. "The last week of the quarter was much stronger than expected. We are pleased that, as it turned out, a few soft weeks in November and early December were not an indication of the full quarter's results."
ScanSource will announce its final sales and earnings results for the December quarter on or about January 23, 2003, in accordance with its normal practice.
