Steve Wariner Jets across Country Promoting ``Steal Another Day''; New CD in Stores February 4

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 2003

Grammy-winning singer/songwriter and guitar virtuoso Steve Wariner will board a private jet next week and set out across the country promoting his new SelecTone Records CD, "Steal Another Day," due in stores on February 4. His schedule calls for in-store appearances in six WalMart stores in five cities, along with radio station visits and local television appearances.

Wariner, who created the independent SelecTone Records for the release of the CD, is adjusting to wearing his "label chief" hat. "I can't describe the joy involved in recording this project in my home studio, inviting great players up to the house and just creating, knowing we weren't on the clock," he says. "Now that the CD is finished, it's time to take the next step and actually get out there and work it. And I can tell you, when it's your label, your 'baby,' there's a lot of extra pressure involved, but I'm loving every minute of it. I'm proud of the CD and the package, and I can't wait to hear what other people think of it."

Wariner's promotional tour begins on Monday, February 3, in Phoenix, where his current single, "Snowfall on the Sand," is getting heavy airplay at KNIX. He will co-host the station's morning show with hosts Tim and Willy.

On Tuesday, February 4, Wariner performs on "Good Morning Arizona," the highest rated morning show in Phoenix, before making two in-store appearances:

Wednesday, February 5, finds Wariner in Wichita, KS, stopping by the midday show on KWCH-TV before greeting fans at a 4 P.M. in-store at the WalMart located at 11411 East Kellogg.

12:00 noon in-store at WalMart located at 3270 Telegraph Rd.

"Steal Another Day" contains 11 new songs written or co-written by Wariner, along with re-recordings of 5 of his former #1 hits. Wariner produced the CD.

In addition to two Grammy Awards, Wariner won the Country Music Association's Single and Song of the Year awards in 1998 for his #1 hit, "Holes in the Floor of Heaven." The song was also the Academy of Country Music's Song of the Year in 1999. Wariner has had over 30 top-10 singles in his career, with 14 #1's. He has three gold albums to his credit, and he has written hit songs for others, including Garth Brooks' "Longneck Bottle," Keith Urban's "Where The Blacktop Ends," and Clint Black's "Nothin' But The Taillights." In August he received the Minnie Pearl Humanitarian Award for his work on behalf of several charities, including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
