HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 1, 2003
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) announced today their selection of Intergraph (Nasdaq:INGR) Video Analyst(R) System (VAS) to help provide investigative video analysis services to law enforcement agencies throughout the state of Georgia. Video Analyst System is a state-of-the-art forensic workstation that incorporates tools necessary to capture, analyze, enhance and edit all major video formats. VAS enables Georgia investigators to analyze forensic and surveillance video from criminal cases such as burglaries, forgeries, robberies and other felonies.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is an independent, statewide agency that provides assistance to the state's criminal justice system in the areas of criminal investigations, forensic laboratory services and computerized criminal justice information. They are one of the first state agencies in Georgia to acquire a video enhancement system. The Bureau's purchase of a high-end Video Analyst System 410 with a 24" LCD monitor will benefit the whole state by delivering forensic video analysis capabilities many local law enforcement agencies could not afford on their own.
Using the Video Analyst System, the GBI's Photo Lab can enhance images from video tape and convert them to still photographs for officers, investigators and District Attorneys throughout the state. These photographs often play an instrumental part in courtroom testimony.
"We in the GBI Photo Lab are eager to begin using the Intergraph Video Analyst System," remarked Georgia Butler, GBI Forensic Photography Supervisor. "Having the ability to better clarify and analyze criminal video footage will make our job easier and help us produce accurate results faster. This will be extremely helpful since we assist so many agencies throughout the state."
