OCONEE COUNTY, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 1, 2003
New 230,000 Square Foot High School Will Be A State-of-the Art Facility With An Open-Air Amphitheatre and 1500 Seat Competition Gym
FJ Clark Incorporated (FJCI) and Oconee County have announced the ground breaking for a new 230,000 square foot high, $30 million school for the Oconee County School District, located near Athens, Georgia. The new high school, designed by FJCI will be a state-of-the-art facility with an open-air amphitheatre and 1500 seat competition gym.
"We are very exited to announce the ground breaking for the Oconee County High School," says Ron VanBergen, FJCI principal. "Our team has worked hard to make this design the first of its kind in the area with nature trails, a media center and even a fine arts complex with dance, band and art classrooms and a black box. Best of all, this project came in more than $500,000 under the initial projected budget."
"The new school will be the envy of Northeast Georgia," says Doug Eza, Assistant Superintendent. "Perhaps the most impressive aspect of working with FJCI is the firm's uncompromising commitment to excellence. Customer service and customer satisfaction are clearly the benchmarks of FJCI."
FJCI designed the new high school similar to a college university campus with a series of buildings comprising classrooms, dining, administration, media center, P.E. areas, a 1500 seat competition gym, and vocational center. The site is 130 acres and shared with a recently completed elementary school. It will have an open-air amphitheatre, a nature trail, tennis courts, and fields for soccer, football, baseball and softball. The high school is also designed for an expansion of a fine arts complex with a 1200 seat auditorium and support facilities.
