MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 15, 2003
Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq:INTU) today announced that its service to help small businesses convert their QuickBooks(R) financial data from Windows to Mac is now available in Apple(R) retail stores nationwide.
"Many customers told us how excited they were to use the new QuickBooks for Mac, and we understand that data conversion is critical," said Anouk Holleran, business leader for QuickBooks for Mac. "We're thrilled to be able to offer multiple conversion options, ranging from do-it-yourself conversion to having it done for you right on the spot."
Customers who want to take advantage of this service can simply bring a copy of their QuickBooks Windows data (on CD or Zip disk) to any Apple retail store. A Mac Genius at the store Genius Bar will convert the customer's data using the Intuit Windows-Mac Data Converter tool. Customers can walk out with their data in Mac format, which will be ready for use with QuickBooks Pro 5.0 for Mac. The cost for the conversion service in the Apple retail store is $75.
"Apple retail stores are a great place for small business owners to shop," said Ron Johnson, Apple's Senior Vice President, Retail. "File conversion for QuickBooks financial data, offered at all of our retail locations, will be yet another useful in-store service for small businesses interested in switching to Mac."
Every Apple retail store employs small business specialists and offers free presentations on small business on the Mac, including running applications like Intuit QuickBooks Pro 5.0 on the Mac. The stores carry hundreds of third-party software titles including Intuit's Quicken 2003, QuickBooks Pro 5.0 for the Mac and during the tax season, Turbo Tax Deluxe.
In addition to visiting Apple retail stores, customers can convert their QuickBooks Windows data file through two options offered by Intuit. Intuit is offering a full-service Windows-Mac data conversion service, starting at $99, for a converted file 10 business days after receipt. A three business day turnaround time is available for an additional fee. Customers can also download a free converter tool and convert the data themselves. More information on the Intuit Windows-Mac data conversion options can be found at http://www.quickbooks.com/support/index/win2mac/.
