HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 17, 2003
Quorum Business Solutions Inc. (Quorum) announced today that Mission Resources (Nasdaq:MSSN), an independent oil and gas company, has agreed to license Quorum Land for deployment across its land management operations. Quorum Land is a part of the Quorum Energy Suite of software products that features a range of software solutions for energy company operations from wellhead to burner tip.
With proven reserves of 229 BCFE of natural gas, Mission Resource's properties are primarily located in the Permian Basin of West Texas, along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast, East Texas, and the Gulf of Mexico. Mission is headquartered in Houston.
Mission recently identified a number of business process requirements in its land and lease management activities that were not supported by its legacy system. Citing features such as wider access across the enterprise to land-related data, a user friendly and intuitive graphical user interface and easy access to scanned documents, Mission selected Quorum Land to meet those requirements. Quorum's creativity in designing an agreement structure that was responsive to Mission's unique situation was another decisive factor in Mission's selection.
"This project was a tremendous success," said Marshall Munsell, Mission Resources' vice president - Land and Land Administration. "We immediately began realizing benefits from the Quorum Land product through ease of use and training, and flexible access to our land and lease information."
"Quorum managed to meet the very aggressive implementation schedule on time and on budget," said Richard W. Piacenti, executive vice president and CFO. "Quorum has delivered real value in terms of the product and associated services."
Implementation of the comprehensive Quorum Land product suite was completed in May 2003. Mission expects to benefit from a substantial improvement in scope of coverage and efficiency of processing its land and lease management activities on a platform that will easily scale up as the company grows.
"The Quorum Land suite provides clients with a complete land management solution, fully integrated with GIS," said Paul Weidman, president of Quorum Business Solutions Inc. "Quorum was able to offer Mission Resources a solution that met its business requirements along with a complete support and training package that will reduce the long-term cost of ownership and provide immediate operational cost savings."
