BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 2, 2003
Taken from the Forthcoming Xbox(TM) Game "Outlaw Volleyball,"
Video to Blend Live Action and In-Game Sequences
Hollywood Records and videogame publisher Simon & Schuster Interactive announced today the Companies have teamed to produce the first music video for the rock band Diffuser. The video for "Get It On" will star Xbox(TM) videogame characters 'Summer' and 'Ice Trey' who are known for their antics in "Outlaw Golf" and "Outlaw Volleyball." Directed by music video veteran Benno Nelson, "Get It On" will feature live action and in-game scenes of Summer and Ice Trey on the beach in Santa Monica.
"Get It On" is the debut video from Diffuser's second album "Making The Grade" (available: July 15). The track can also be found on the forthcoming soundtrack to OUTLAW VOLLEYBALL (available: late July).
"The idea of putting these characters in our video came from our love of videogames," said Peter Schojan, bassist for Diffuser. "Between Anthony (Cangelosi) and me, we play a ton of games for the Xbox. When we heard about Outlaw Volleyball we had to get our favorite characters in our video. Summer is a total babe and from what I've heard a devoted Diffuser groupie."
The video for "Get It On" will begin airing on music television networks soon.
"Game soundtracks are here," said Peter von Schlossberg, vice president of sales and marketing for Simon & Schuster Interactive. "All media is competing for the mindshare of the consumer. Movies only keep your attention for an hour and 50 minutes, however games potentially have you for 40 hours or more. This is the age of mixed media."
ABOUT "MAKING THE GRADE"
"Making The Grade" comes two years after the band's Hollywood debut "Injury Loves Melody," which, thanks to hit single "Karma," made the top 20 on Billboard's Active Rock Chart. In addition, they appeared on the "Mission Impossible 2" soundtrack alongside Metallica, Foo Fighters, and Queen's Brian May, and performed on "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn."

COURT IS IN SESSION
OUTLAW VOLLEYBALL features 10 courts so real you'll be cleaning the sand from your crotch for days! Some of the exotic locales include:
Tar Beach
Located on the roof top of a grimy inner city apartment building, this volleyball court is blessed with breathtaking views of absolutely nothing. Fans flock here for the exciting play and to catch a buzz off the rising bus fumes. Remember at Tar Beach peeing off the roof is encouraged.
The Big House
There's a reason why Santa never visits this joint, because the girls here have been very, very naughty. Welcome to the only volleyball venue where fans are routinely cavity searched before each game. This dank, cold prison is the perfect place for non-stop volleyball action ... so, grab a hold of some cell bars and do some serious time at the Big House.
Stinky Falls
Hold your nose, folks, and welcome to Stinky Falls -- the only volleyball court in the world built in an underground sewer. Ah, the lunacy. If the court appears to be moving, that's because it's covered with hundreds of gallons of flowing, chunky, corn-riddled refuse. Everyone who's ever played in this putrid venue agrees that this court truly stinks!
Graves End Station
Welcome to Third Rail Junction! Located just off the D train, this subway-convenient court is popular with sports fans, trains buffs and vagrants. This is the ideal spot for high-voltage volleyball or just doing some serious tagging. Break out the tokens and catch a game, but whatever you do, don't pee on the third rail.
Jungle Fever
Step into a rainforest paradise where the competition is tough, the scenery's spectacular and the mosquitoes are the size of SUVs. Mingle with the natives, who are always friendly, even when they're firing poison darts at you. Get ready for some awesome bumping, setting and spiking action ... and maybe a nasty case of malaria too.
