America is dancing to Jewel's new beat, as her current hit single, "Intuition," hits the #1 spot this week on Billboard's "Hot Dance Music Club Play" chart. At the same time, the song has broken into the top ten on the national Top 40 Mainstream/CHR and Top 40 Adult/Hot AC charts.

This marks the second time in her career that Jewel has topped the Billboard dance chart. In November 2002, dance remixes of "Serve the Ego," from her previous album, "THIS WAY," also hit #1 on the magazine's "Hot Dance Tracks Club Play" chart. It was this first-hand experience with the world of beat-driven music that helped inspire Jewel's musical direction on her new album.

The special maxi-single release of "Intuition" features remixes of the song by Todd Terry, Ford, Markus Schulz, and Gabriel & Dresden. "Intuition" was written by Jewel Kilcher and Lester Mendez.

"Intuition" is the first single from Jewel's new album, "0304," which debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart, simultaneously becoming both the highest-debuting and highest-charting album of her eight-year career. Produced by Lester A. Mendez and Jewel Kilcher, "0304" is the fourth Jewel album to hit the top ten on the national album charts.

Among Jewel's ongoing activities in support of "0304," she will return to NBC-TV's Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Wednesday, August 6th. She last appeared on the show on June 2nd, heralding the arrival of "0304" with a special eve-of-release performance. Also on August 6th, Jewel will be featured on the new WB television live music series, Pepsi Smash.
