SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 2003
KJR FM 95.7 today announced that popular local radio personality, Pat Cashman, will join the station as the host of the morning show, beginning Aug. 11. The show, which will air weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., will be an upbeat mix of 60s and 70s music, local news, big money contests and classic Cashman characters and call-ins.
In keeping with the 60s and 70s SuperHits format of the station, Cashman's new show will echo themes from the popular KJR morning shows of the 70s, which featured talent such as Charlie Brown, Lan Roberts, Gary Lockwood and Emperor Smith. This approach will allow Cashman to demonstrate his considerable broadcast talents, from writing and producing to hosting a wide variety of guests.
"I am thrilled to be a part of the great KJR legacy," said Pat Cashman, KJR FM's hottest new talent. "Although frankly, compared to those legends, I'm pretty much just a leg end. The music of the 60s and 70s was so much a part of my own teenage years. They're the songs my girlfriend might have listened to in my car. If I'd had a car. Or a girlfriend."
"For so many reasons, we are very pleased to add Pat Cashman to the line-up at KJR FM," said Michele Grosenick, vice president and general manager for Clear Channel Radio Seattle. "Pat is a true Northwest classic. Through the years, Pat has amassed an incredibly loyal fan base. We know that his amusing and entertaining style will be a hit with listeners across generations."
About Pat Cashman
Cashman has done creative work for radio, television, print and video games in addition to being on-air talent and writer for the multi Emmy Award winning "Almost Live!" show which ran for 15 seasons. Cashman has a wide repertoire of voices that he brought to his work as a radio personality on both KIRO FM and KOMO AM in Seattle. He continues to provide his funny and provocative talents for numerous local and regional advertisers in the Northwest as well as serving as a speaker and announcer for many organizations and events.
