A New Era for the General Aviation Industry With the New Bombardier V220 and V300T Aircraft Engines

Bombardier Recreational Products today launched its Bombardier(TM) V200 and V300T aircraft engines, the first modern V aircraft engine configurations with a "true" Fully Authoritative Digital Engine Control (F.A.D.E.C.) in the industry. With low maintenance, high durability, lower sound emissions, MoGas capabilities and the best power-to-weight ratio in their class, the new Bombardier aircraft engines represent what pilots and aircraft manufacturers have been demanding for more than 30 years.

The Bombardier V220 and V300T engines make quantum leaps in Durability, Quality and Reliability (DQR) and their "V" configuration allows airframers to be more streamlined. Their use of liquid cooling and patent-pending features result in the elimination of shock cooling concerns and smoother operation, as well as offering easier maintenance than current aviation piston powerplants. Their MoGas capability, use of propeller speed reduction units (PSRU) and mufflers also help ensure that the Bombardier V220 and V300T are "geared for the future and the environmental challenges it holds." Finally, the fully redundant Engine Management System of the Bombardier V220 and V300T allows for the first true F.A.D.E.C. that will reduce the pilot's workload and eliminate reliance on leaded aviation gasoline.

Developed by the engineering team at Bombardier-Rotax in Gunskirshen, Austria, these engines are currently undergoing final phases of development and certification for fixed and rotor wing applications scheduled to be completed in 2005.

This new series of aircraft engines will be manufactured by Bombardier-Rotax and distributed in the United States directly by Bombardier Recreational Products and offered to select airframers and experimental aircraft builders, as well as for Supplemental Type Certificate applications.
