"National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" -- listed as the #3 favorite holiday movie of all time by E!Online -- is being released by Warner Home Video (WHV) for the first time in widescreen format Special Edition DVD October 7.

The "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" Special Edition DVD will be available in widescreen format for $19.98 SRP or as part of "The Ultimate Vacation Collection DVD 4-Pack" for $59.92 SRP. The "4-Pack" contains "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" along with "National Lampoon's Vacation 20th Anniversary Edition," "National Lampoon's European Vacation" and "Vegas Vacation."

In "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) attempts to create a picture perfect, old-fashioned Christmas for his family and invites his extended family to celebrate the holidays at his home. But a festive supporting cast including Beverly D'Angelo, Randy Quaid, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Juliette Lewis and Doris Roberts, 25,000 lights on the roof, an exploding turkey on the dining room table and a SWAT team taking siege outside soon help Clark realize that more does not always mean merrier. Critic David Sheehan said the film is "funnier than the first 'Vacation.' Chevy Chase is at his best!" John Hughes wrote and was a producer on "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"; Jeremiah S. Chechik was the director.

The DVD includes special features such as an all-new, very merry commentary with Randy Quaid, Beverly D'Angelo, Johnny Galecki, Miriam Flynn, Director Jeremiah S. Chechik and Producer Matty Simmons. The DVD will include English and French (dubbed in Quebecois) languages and subtitles in English, French and Spanish.
