REDWOOD CITY, Calif. & Singapore--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 2, 2003
Click to Meet(TM) Express allows Fujitsu customers to meet online and conduct meetings anytime, anywhere despite issues like current SARS situation
First Virtual Communications (Nasdaq: FVCX), a premier provider of rich media web conferencing and collaboration solutions, announced today that Singapore-based Fujitsu Asia Pte Ltd (Fujitsu Asia), a leading IT and telecommunications solution provider, has launched First Virtual's award-winning Click to Meet(TM) Express web conferencing solution to assist Fujitsu customers to conduct business meetings anytime, anywhere, despite issues like the current SARS situation.
"Click to Meet Express delivers the most complete web conferencing solution, and we have bundled it with four USB web cameras, four USB headsets and Fujitsu's Entry-Level Intel-based Primergy Server," said Mr. Yeo Hua Peck, director of the Network Services Business Group, Fujitsu Asia. "It is the most competitive solution around, offering easy installation, cost-effective concurrent user licensing and no costly per-minute charges such as those incurred with teleconferencing solutions that use analog or ISDN lines."
Click to Meet Express enables dispersed groups to meet online and conduct more effective, collaborative meetings. Combining the best of easy-to-use, browser-based web conferencing and collaboration tools with audio and video quality of up to 30 frames per second, Click to Meet Express also integrates with existing video conferencing equipment - extending the investments companies may have already made.
Mr. Yeo added, "The concurrent usage license scheme allows unlimited number of conference end points with the addition of more cameras and microphones, making it the most cost-effective solution available on the market."
Now, ad-hoc web conferences with employees, partners and customers can be created on-the-fly, and practically anyone with an Internet connection and a PC can attend. The industry-unique approach to this multipoint conferencing solution is its intelligent multipoint audio and video which allows participants to choose who they will see. This differs from many low cost point-to-point conferences currently available on the market. With a rich palette of easy to use tools, including presentations, multipoint video, application sharing, and business quality audio, each participant chooses the collaboration tools most appropriate to the interaction.
Slated as next generation web conferencing, this solution allows conferencing participants to present or share PowerPoint, Excel, Word and multiple graphic image format documents presentation capabilities to multiple parties for real-time collaboration. Such presentations can be uploaded and displayed on-the-fly or saved in advance and made available for download after the conference is finished.
"We are very excited to be able to partner with Fujitsu Asia to penetrate the next-generation web conferencing market in Asia Pacific, particularly in hard-hit SARS areas," stated Bing Liao, vice president of sales for First Virtual Asia Pacific. "We have already started joint marketing and advertisement efforts, and the initial feedback from the market has been very positive. Today, our relationship is strongest in Singapore, but with increasing interest throughout Asia."
