OSSINING, N.Y. and HALSTEAD, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 24, 2003
RSoft Design Group, Inc. (www.rsoftdesign.com) today announced the opening of its first European office, based in the UK. RSoft Design Europe will sell the software company's component design tools -- including BeamPROP(TM), FullWAVE(TM), BandSOLVE(TM), GratingMOD(TM), and LaserMOD(TM) -- in the European Union. The new office will allow RSoft to provide technical support directly to the European community, while increasing RSoft's presence in Europe.
The European office is being founded as part of an ongoing strategy of expansion, which included the successful opening of RSoft's Japanese office in October 2002, the January 2003 acquisition of intellectual property and hiring of key employees from ARTIS, and last week's announcement of a research and development and EU distribution relationship for its system- and network-level tools with Alps Telecommunications Software in Italy. The new office will provide the base by which future business can be grown throughout the European Union, reinforcing RSoft Design Group's position as the market leader in the design, simulation, and optimization fields.
John Horgan has been appointed general manager of RSoft Design Europe. Mr. Horgan has more than 18 years of experience in sales, marketing, and technical support in the electro-optics and photonics industries. He has worked for a number of companies in related fields, and was an original member of the team founding the Hamamatsu Photonics UK office. Most recently, Mr. Horgan was the telecom products manager at Optima Research Ltd., RSoft's former European distributor, where he dealt almost exclusively with RSoft's component design tools.
"I have worked with RSoft as their European representative for more than three years now," said Mr. Horgan, "and I have always been extremely impressed with the quality of both their software and staff. I am thrilled to become a full-time member of this winning team, and I look forward to playing a major part in RSoft's continued success."
