IGN Launches Downloads Channel; Offers Free and Subscription-Based Game-Related Downloads

IGN Entertainment (Nasdaq:IGNX) -- home to IGN.com(R), the web's largest information and entertainment destination for video gamers -- today announced that it has launched IGN Downloads, a new channel offering downloads of PC game content, including game demos, mods, patches, movies, drivers and tools.
IGN's 8.4 million unique monthly visitors will be able to download files free-of-charge on the new channel (http://downloads.ign.com); however, IGN is also offering a separate downloads subscription program that will provide additional benefits beyond the free service.
Downloads subscriber benefits include faster download speeds (up to 1Mb/second), no waiting in a queue to begin file downloads, exclusive downloads, priority customer support, and fewer advertisements. The initial subscription price is $8.95 per month or $39.95 per year. Current annual subscribers to IGN Insider will be able to sign up for the annual downloads subscription for a discounted price of $29.95. IGN also is offering a subscription bundle, which includes annual subscriptions to both IGN Insider and IGN Downloads for $54.90.
