REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 17, 2003

Nextance, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise software for contract management and related business processes, today announced that Extreme Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:EXTR) has chosen Nextance for the management of their sales and licensing contracts.

Extreme Networks, a leader in Ethernet broadband networking solutions, delivers the most effective applications and services infrastructure by creating networks that are faster, simpler and more cost-effective than conventional solutions. Headquartered in Santa Clara, Calif., Extreme Networks markets its network switching solutions in more than 50 countries.

"After a careful evaluation of the various options available to us, we chose Nextance to provide a robust contract management solution," said Lisa Johnson, contract manager, at Extreme Networks. "We needed a solution that could be easily configured to our specific needs, and one that is proven in the market. Nextance's product and its track record with other large companies were determining factors in our decision."

Nextance will provide Extreme Networks with a web-based repository to manage their agreements and associated commitments, and in turn, users will be able to access and have visibility into all contracts from a single repository.

"Companies, such as Extreme Networks, are telling us that our product is the one software solution that actually maps to their business processes and is flexible enough to adapt with them over time," said Kirk Krappe, president and CEO of Nextance. "Contract management is an area of tremendous change inside companies, and to date, enterprise software has not effectively supported contract-related functions. That has changed with Nextance."
