demonstrate compliance capabilities under implementation guide
standards established by HIPAA
HealthTrio, a leading provider of e-health and core business solutions for the managed care industry, today announced that it has demonstrated, through Claredi certification, the capabilities of its HealthTrio connect and HealthTrio xpress software related to the requirements of the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
This certification indicates that both HealthTrio connect, an Internet-based health management system, and HealthTrio xpress, a core managed care business system, when properly used, are capable of generating HIPAA-compliant claims and eligibility transactions.
HealthTrio received Claredi certification for 276/277 (claims status) transactions, 270/271 (eligibility) transactions, 835 (claim payment/remittance advice) and 837 (institutional and professional claims) transactions. More details regarding HealthTrio's certification status with Claredi can be found at www.claredi.com.
"This certification from Claredi is a key milestone in executing our HIPAA compliance program," said Janet Hillock, chief privacy and security officer for HealthTrio. "It also reinforces to our payer clients that we are prepared to manage their data and process HIPAA-compliant transactions on their behalf."
HealthTrio connect allows health plans, providers, members, employers and brokers to share information and interact in real-time. The system immediately impacts inefficiencies and administrative costs affecting all plan stakeholders while "wrapping" a health plan's legacy system in a HIPAA-ready environment. HealthTrio xpress is a core managed care business system that replaces health plans' legacy systems with a fully integrated, end-to-end administrative infrastructure. HealthTrio xpress uses an n-tier client-server architecture, Microsoft SQL database and Microsoft Windows-compatible interface--creating a user-friendly environment that provides comprehensive resources to managed care organizations. Both products can be implemented in 90 to 180 days as stand-alone applications or together as a total solution.
