Cyberterrorism:
Tari Schreider is the director of security practice of Extreme Logic.
The company aids clients in the areas of extensive security planning,
rigorous implementation, strategic security assessments, risk
evaluation, vulnerability testing, and disaster recovery capability,
along with policies and procedures that maintain tight reins on
corporate information assets. Tari's practice is based on three
fundamental truths of security: One security initiatives demand a
business orientation; Two, mitigating threat requires the protection
of applications from the inside out; and Three, effective security
requires the orchestration of people, process, and technology. Too
often, these tenets of security are ignored in pursuit of a technology
silver bullet, rather than embraced in an enterprise-wide pursuit of
information asset protection. Schreider finds that companies spend
fortunes on security products and managed services, but continue to be
overrun with viruses, hacked web sites, and loss of critical
information. Tari can discuss cyberterrorism and hacking.

Military Medicine:
Sandeep Shah, of Skyscape, is an expert in mobile information,
medicine and the use of PDAs in the military. Technology is changing
military medicine - from hospitals and MASH units, to the information
and guidance available to the medics with combat units. Shah can
provide insight into how hundreds of Army, Navy, Air Force doctors,
nurses and medics have begun using PDAs to gain access to critical
information when they are on the field. How are PDAs helping military
medical professionals access information, and what kind of trusted
content really is available? Overall, while handhelds PDAs are
garnering attention, their real impact is in medicine where they're
changing the way healthcare is delivered. More than one in four
doctors use handhelds to improve care, and their use is growing
rapidly among all medical professionals.

Michelle Ferguson-Cohen, author and illustrator, was raised a military
brat. She was inspired to reach out to this "invisible" community
because she is the daughter of a retired Army General and Vietnam
Veteran, as well as the granddaughter of a soldier killed in action in
WWII. Sometimes in the throes of politics, policies and opinions about
war, people forget that there are families. And, most importantly,
small children who are struggling daily with the multitude of issues
that come with having a parent deployed in the service of our country.
Ferguson-Cohen hopes her book will help validate the experience of
military and reservist families as well as educate the general public.
