LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 23, 2003
Harry's London is pleased to celebrate the 75th annual Academy Awards(R) by shodding several of Hollywood's leading men for the event's red carpet, as well as for the parties that surround this very special event.
Those considering Harry's as an alternative to the traditional patent tux shoe style on the Kodak Theater red carpet include Jim Carrey, Robin Williams, Jack Nicholson, Stephen Daldry, Denzel Washington, John Travolta and Thomas Kretschmann.
From his suite at the Peninsula Hotel this week, Mellon hosted a number of stylists and celebrities while also sending the loafers in black kid and black suede to fittings for ceremony and party attendees. In addition, Oscar(R) nominees and presenters, as well as a number of other lucky gents, received Harry's "Oscar(R) Survival Kit." A black leather weekender designed by Mellon, the Kit is filled with items to help any man survive the hectic week leading up to and including the Oscars(R) -- from flight cream and shampoo to silk socks and cologne. Leading men and stylemakers who were gifted Harry's during the week include:
Paul Bettany Philip Bloch Colin Farrell Cuba Gooding Randy Jackson Chris Cooper Jack Huston Orlando Bloom John C. Reilly Elton John Elijah Wood Oswald Boateng Ryan Seacrest Tom Hanks Nicholas Cage Robert Graham
According to Founder Matthew Mellon, the Oscars(R) is the perfect venue to build awareness of his luxury leather goods: "Harry's is a stronger brand because of the Hollywood association and the relationships we are building. The community has been tremendously receptive to the Harry's concept of style meets comfort."
The range of men's luxury footwear that combines elements that are classic yet contemporary, is based in London. For more information or images, please contact MHA Media at 323/461-1100 or Pearl PR at 212/533-2121.
