HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 23, 2003

As U.S. military operations in Iraq began on Wednesday, Hollywood has decided to dispense with traditional red carpet interviews and photo ops, moving celebrities to find alternative ways to express their feelings.

An eclectic group of talent, including Sharon Stone, Angela Bassett, Paula Abdul, Chloe Sevigny, Candace Bushnell, Comedian Scott "Carrot Top" Thompson, Olympic Skating Medalist Timothy Goebel, Ice-T, Star Jones, Sally Kirkland, writer/director Nora Ephron, Howard Stern, Jay and Mavis Leno, and more, have come together to make their statement during the wartime awards week by embracing items from Oro Alexander Jeweler's LOVE PEACE HOPE Collection, designed by Udi Behr.

The neck, earring and wrist adornments were tasteful, fashionable ways for celebrities to show their support for lasting peace. The silent statement this collection made spoke volumes.

Behr was inspired to create the line after witnessing the nation's outpouring of support from 9/11, while he was living in the shadows of its aftermath. "It was such a great spirit," Behr recalls. "I didn't want to lose it. That's my form of art -- to try to capture that spirit -- and the jewelers at Oro Alexander provided me the `canvas' to create my designs."

The LOVE PEACE HOPE Collection combines diamonds, gems and beading with the 18K white and yellow gold signature designs. This symbolic assortment of necklaces, watches, bracelets, rings and earrings is for both men and women.

Says Behr, "The collection inspires a myriad of emotions: feelings of promise, happiness, faith, motivation and harmony. It is my heartfelt wish that our American troops finally bring love, peace and hope to the men, women and children of Iraq."

This collection is being carried by jewelry boutiques and department stores across America. And now, more than ever, Americans want to express their optimism for a better tomorrow.
