HP (NYSE:HPQ) has been chosen as a strategic technology partner for the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF), a service organization that provides health and child care, social and charitable services, in addition to retirement care, to all entertainment industry members, including their spouses, children and parents.
As part of its first initiative for the MPTF, HP has made a technology donation to the MPTF Country House and Hospital in Southern California, enabling industry retirees to connect with friends and family through user-friendly products that meet the needs of people of all ages. The technology lab will be available to all residents and technical support will be provided by HP to ensure the experience with technology is enriching.

Another HP initiative for the MPTF was providing Media Center and Tablet PCs for the "First Annual Night Before," a celebrity event benefiting the MPTF, held on Saturday, March 22, in Beverly Hills, Calif. HP technology made it possible to bridge multiple generations of the entertainment family together, enabling dozens of celebrities and other guests at the benefit to send personalized e-mail to the motion picture and television employees of yesteryear who reside at the MPTF hospital and retirement communities. Residents were able to view e-mails in real time or at their leisure at their annual Oscar(R) get-together on Sunday.
Continuing its commitment as a leader in building a foundation for universal access to basic technologies for people young and old, HP will launch a national "Prime Of Your Life" tour starring legendary poet, composer and performer Rod McKuen. Following his April 30 Carnegie Hall concert, McKuen will appear in a series of free concerts for seniors throughout the country starting in Texas, Florida, Arizona and California. Following each performance, HP will host a "Technology For Seniors" program introducing consumer technology products for those in the prime of their life.
As an important element in Hollywood and studio releases for many years, HP technology goes beyond traditional boundaries in enabling creativity on the big screen and plays a critical role in filmmaking and visual effects for industry leaders like DreamWorks SKG, and, through the Sundance Institute, is working with filmmakers who are pioneering the art and science of filmmaking and the role of technology in new ways.
