MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 24, 2003
In light of recent events and deployment of United States military throughout the world, U.S. Bank is proud to announce its support of U.S. Armed Forces by offering a special military checking program effectively immediately.
U.S. Bank Military Checking is available to those who are currently deployed or who will soon be deployed into action outside of the 24 states where U.S. Bank is available. As part of the program, military customers will receive:
-- waived monthly account maintenance fees; -- free U.S. Bank Internet Banking and Internet Bill Pay; -- no charge for transactions (deposits, withdrawals, balance inquiries and transfers) completed at non-U.S. Bank ATM machine (that does not include fees that other ATM network owners may assess); -- free U.S. Bank logo style checks or a 50 percent discount on most other personal check styles; -- a $15 annual discount on a safe deposit box; -- free, 24-hour customer service including the acceptance of collect calls for those calling from overseas; and -- free U.S. Bank Visa(R) Check Card with Checking That Pays(R), which means purchases can be made anywhere that Visa is accepted worldwide and simultaneously earn cash rebates on those purchases.
"With all that our military families have on their minds right now, banking should be the least of their concerns," said Richard Davis, U.S. Bancorp vice chairman for consumer banking and payment services. "We sincerely hope that if our military customers have any financial concerns they will contact us. We want them to feel confident that their financial situation is secure."
Military customers will need to show their official military identification and military orders to obtain U.S. Bank Military Checking.
