EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.----(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 24, 2003
Dell today announced that Interelate, Inc. has selected Dell for its Web and applications server needs in its Minnesota data center.
Interelate, whose customers include companies such as Nissan and American Airlines, creates and manages customer databases, applies advanced analytics, executes marketing campaigns and provides strategic consulting services to help companies retain and grow customer relationships and maximize return on their marketing investments. "Managing our clients' campaigns, results analysis and customer databases on Dell servers enables us do a lot of processing using only a few powerful servers, as opposed to an entire server farm," said Mike Wilson, vice president of Marketing Services for Interelate. Using just three Dell(TM) PowerEdge(TM) servers with direct-attached Dell PowerVault(TM) storage systems, the company was able to send, gather feedback and report to clients on more than 1 billion targeted, opt-in e-mails, newsletters and direct mail pieces in 2002.
Interelate's data center houses approximately 85 servers. While many of the systems run Microsoft(R) Windows 2000(R) and applications including Microsoft SQL 2000 and Exchange 2000, some dedicated to intrusion detection, monitoring and charting network performance run Red Hat(R) Linux(R).
"With Dell, we can scale and affordably upgrade our hardware to fit our client's needs," Wilson said. "This allows us to better manage our operating costs. Also, with 4-Hour Response(1) service on our servers, and being an all-Dell shop, we never face compatibility issues. Everything is optimized, and everything works."
"Dell's commitment to providing standards-based systems enables service businesses such as Interelate to get more powerful systems at better prices, maximizing their technology spend and providing more cost-effective products and services to their clients," said Joe Marengi, senior vice president, Dell Americas.
