Glomark: Microsoft Office 2003 Has Rapid Return on Investment, According to New Glomark Study

Glomark Corporation released a new study, which showed a rapid, positive return on investment for those that adopt Microsoft Office 2003 suite.

Glomark technology valuation analysts used their Economic Value Creation(R) (EVC(R)) methodology and the Genius Base Pro(TM) software tool to review the technical and operational costs and benefits of upgrading against two typical corporate IT environments and identified 13 quantifiable benefits.

In the first study, a $2.1 billion manufacturing company with 2,020 PCs, Glomark found that over three years the InfoPath(TM) information gathering and management program would increase productivity by $564,235 and support of XML would cut custom application development by $783,337. These, taken with other Office 2003 benefits, would most likely result in a payback of 5 months, a Simple ROI of 307%, and a net present value of $2.5 million.

For a $34 billion distribution company with 35,300 PCs, Glomark's analysis saw payback in six months and a 281% Simple ROI from an upgrade. The economic benefits for this company result in $18.8 million in positive net profit impact in the first year alone. OneNote(TM), a new feature that manages note taking, by itself produces $6 million from increased user productivity over three years.
