SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 5, 2003
Dimension One Spas' AquaFit(TM) 19 Dual Temp, a revolutionary product combining aquatic exercise and hydromassage, was recognized in the April 2003 issue of Consumers Digest as a "Best Buy" in portable spas.
A Consumers Digest "Best Buy" is defined as a product that offers outstanding value for its price.
"Dimension One Spas prides itself on the quality of products we manufacture," said Bob Hallam, CEO of Dimension One Spas. "For over two decades, we have combined innovations in materials science and water handling technology to bring consumers the most advanced spas in the world."
Measuring 19 feet long and nearly eight feet wide, the AquaFit 19 Dual Temp is equipped with both a fitness pool and a hot tub that are separated by a dividing wall. The fitness pool features an 11-foot swimming lane with adjustable water-resistant currents that enable users to swim, walk or run in place at their own pace, or to use an optional rowing kit or resistance exercise stations. The spacious hot tub portion offers a relaxing retreat to unwind and enjoy the soothing hydrotherapy effects of 17 adjustable VCR hydrotherapy jets.
Categorized by Consumers Digest as a "Premium Selection," meaning that the product is fully featured and priced accordingly, the AquaFit 19 Dual Temp's MSRP is $34,995.
"Hot tub ownership has increased more than 30 percent over the last three years," said Hallam. "Today's hot tubs are sophisticated, state-of-the-art products that provide numerous health, recreation and entertainment benefits, and the AquaFit is an extension of this philosophy. People who cannot exercise easily on land now have the opportunity to get healthy by exercising in water, where 90 percent of their body weight is relieved by the buoyancy of the water."
And according to Hallam, "Since water is so much denser than air, each exercise performed in water is more effective than those performed on land."
The National Spa and Pool Institute (NSPI) estimates that approximately 3.4 million households currently have a hot tub. Additionally, 72 percent of owners believe the addition of a hot tub increases the value of their home.
