Tool Automates and Simplifies Key Step in Solution Development for
Applications Built on the Microsoft .NET Framework
Sapient (NASDAQ: SAPE), a leading business and technology consultancy, today announced it has developed and released a new tool, called BuildIt, to the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN). BuildIt automates and simplifies a critical and repeated step in solution development for applications built on the Microsoft .NET Framework, called the "build process." The activities that occur during the "build process" include application construction, testing and refinement. MSDN is a resource for developers using Microsoft tools, products, and technologies. Sapient worked in collaboration with Microsoft, who provided design input and reviewed the tool prior to its release.
"BuildIt helps teams establish an automated and repeatable process for building solutions on the .NET Framework at the beginning of a development project - saving time, reducing errors and helping ensure they deliver on time and on budget," said Ben Gaucherin, Sapient's chief technology officer. "Sapient is committed to helping clients get business value from their technology initiatives, and we're pleased to make BuildIt available to our clients and to the larger MSDN community."
"The build process is a time-consuming, yet critical, step in all software development projects," said John Montgomery, director for the Developer and Platform Evangelism Division at Microsoft Corp. "It's great to see Sapient delivering tools like BuildIt to help developers automate this important step so that they can deliver higher quality solutions in less time."
BuildIt was designed and implemented by Sapient's Advanced Technology team, which is led by Gaucherin and explores the practicable business applications of new technologies. Technology Specialist Michael Monteiro of the Advanced Technology team was the lead architect responsible for developing the tool. BuildIt is available online at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/ library/en-us/dnbda/html/tdlg_app.asp?frame=true
