Dixie Chicks 'Top Of The World Tour' a Great Success; Dixie Chicks Ticket Sales Skyrocket Past 850,000

Since the Grammy winning Dixie Chicks, announced plans for their upcoming "Top Of The World Tour", interest in the tour across the country has been intense. The first concert dates went on sale this past weekend and the demand was overwhelming. The majority of shows immediately sold out. After just one weekend of on-sales, over an astonishing 850,000 tickets have been sold.
Clear Channel Entertainment will be promoting 26 of the Dixie Chicks upcoming concerts. Of those 26 performances the vast majority of them sold-out in minutes! The June 19th performance at the FleetCenter in Boston, MA sold out in less then 13 minutes and the July 17th performance at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, CA sold out in a mere thirty-five minutes!!

The "Top Of The World Tour" will kick off on May 1st in Greenville, SC and will wrap in Nashville, TN in August. The tour will be their first tour in three years and comes in support of their latest critically acclaimed and multi-platinum selling album, Home. Considered as one of their most personal albums yet, it has remained on the charts for roughly 27 weeks and has earned numerous nominations and awards recently including Grammy's for Best Country Performance By a Duo or Group With Vocals, Best Country Instrumental Performance, Best Country Album, and Best Recording Package.
