SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 2003

Good Guys, Inc. (Nasdaq:GGUY) today announced that it has expanded its home audio selection to include Monitor Audio's premium speaker components. Founded in the United Kingdom in 1972, Monitor Audio is one of the world's most respected manufacturers of high-end loudspeakers.

"Monitor Audio's high-performance loudspeakers are designed to integrate seamlessly with both hi-fi and audio/video systems and are internationally acclaimed for their implementation of metal drivers and exemplary speaker cabinet construction and finish," said Mike Mohan, director of merchandising for audio and video, Good Guys. "We are excited to add this exclusive line of British loudspeakers to our home audio offerings and look forward to working with Monitor and our other premium audio brands to provide our customers with a unique in-store experience that enables them to see and hear the best in entertainment electronics."

Beginning this week, all Good Guys locations will present and merchandise Monitor's three speaker lines. Monitor Audio's flagship Gold Reference Series features their latest technology, including the new RST (Rigid Surface Technology) dimpled alloy drivers, pure silver internal cabling and Puresound crossover for exceptional performance in any application. The recently introduced Silver S Series boasts wood matched veneers and lightning fast C-CAM drivers and the Bronze Series incorporates Monitors' widely acclaimed metal drive unit technology and aesthetic appeal and finish while remaining Monitor's most affordable line of loudspeakers.

The addition of Monitor Audio to Good Guys' home audio selection is part of the company's overall strategy to more closely integrate its audio and video offerings and capture a larger share of the higher-end audio and home theater market. Earlier this year, Good Guys added Velodyne Acoustics' SPL (Small Plays Loud) high-powered "micro" subwoofers, expanded its selection of Parasound's acclaimed "Halo" series of premium home theater offerings and was designated as a "Flagship Reference Dealer" by Klipsch Audio Technologies.

Good Guys is one of the largest specialty retailers of higher-end consumer entertainment electronics in the nation and offers a distinctive selection of fully featured digital and high-tech products, including name brand products at popular price points and higher-end brands and models not widely available at the large, national chains. Founded in 1973, Good Guys operates 71 stores in California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. For more information, visit www.goodguys.com.
