ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 28, 2003

Addressing the needs of millions of digital camera owners worldwide, Eastman Kodak Company today released the latest version of its free, popular all-in-one digital picture organization software.

Kodak EasyShare software version 3.0 offers any digital camera owner new features designed to make it even simpler to quickly view, organize, edit, share, and print their digital pictures, including CD burning, on-screen album creation, and compatibility with Microsoft Outlook address books. The free download of the full Windows version is available by visiting http://www.kodak.com/go/easysharesw. A CD will also available for a nominal charge.

"When you take a picture, you're capturing a memory. All too often, these memories are 'trapped' inside a computer, preventing people from sharing and reliving moments with others," said William Jackson, general manager of desktop software and new services for Kodak's digital & applied imaging products and services. "Kodak EasyShare Software -- designed with the one-touch simplicity that the world expects from Kodak -- frees your digital pictures so you can enjoy all the benefits of digital photography."

Millions of people have already discovered the benefits of Kodak EasyShare software. Regardless of what brand camera was used to take the digital pictures, the software provides straightforward ways to review, sort, e-mail, and print the images, whether using at home inkjet or thermal printers, online photofinishers, or neighborhood retailers.

Create CDs for Sharing and Archiving

Kodak EasyShare software's new CD burning feature enables people to back up their precious memories with a few clicks of the mouse. Using easy-to-follow directions, any PC user with a CD-recordable drive can quickly burn selected pictures to a standard CD-R, which can then be stored for archiving purposes or given to family and friends.

Easily Create On-Screen Albums

Version 3.0 offers an enhanced method to organize photos with the new "album" feature. Once EasyShare software is loaded, it automatically locates and indexes picture and video files, enabling people to view and sort (e.g., sort by date taken, view entire collection) their digital images from one central location. A person can then create virtual on-screen albums, and simply drag and drop pictures and videos into these albums, categorizing them much like they would when creating a traditional photo album with prints.

Share Photos Online

By selecting a group of photos and clicking on the new "Share" tab, people can quickly upload digital pictures to Ofoto in select countries for effortless sharing with anyone who can access the Web.

Import Microsoft Outlook Address Books

Kodak EasyShare software makes it simpler for people to share memories anywhere that e-mail reaches by importing Microsoft Outlook address books directly into the EasyShare Software e-mail address book.

Print at Home, Online, or with Neighborhood Retailers

Prints are the most common format by which pictures are shared, and Kodak EasyShare software provides people a choice of simple-to-use printing options to fit their needs, including:

-- At home inkjet printing, using the software's proprietary One

Touch to Better Pictures feature with Kodak Ultima and Premium

Picture Paper inkjet products. This takes advantage of

proprietary color technologies developed by Kodak to help

people get vibrant, true-to-life prints from home inkjet

printers.

-- At home thermal printing via the newly-introduced Kodak

EasyShare printer dock 6000, resulting in a borderless,

water-resistant, long-lasting 4 x 6-inch Kodak print in as

little as 90 seconds.

-- Online print ordering by uploading pictures to Ofoto, a Kodak

Company, or more than 50 online photofinishers worldwide;

-- At neighborhood retailers, taking a CD-R created with the

software to in-store Kodak Picture Maker kiosks or counter

staff for traditional processing.

Kodak EasyShare software works with most popular digital image formats and is ideal for all digital camera owners. It is also part of the award-winning Kodak EasyShare digital photography system, which includes simple-to-use, high-quality digital cameras, camera docks for one-touch image transfer to a PC and rapid battery recharging, and the new Kodak EasyShare printer dock 6000.

The software is available in 10 languages: Simplified and Traditional Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Version 3.0 requires a 233 MHz processor running Windows 98/98SE/2000/ME/XP; 64MB RAM (128MB RAM for Windows XP), 200MB hard drive space, and a color monitor with a minimum 800x600 display (16-bit or 24-bit color recommended). A CD or DVD-recordable drive (CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW) is required to use the CD burning feature, an Internet connection is necessary for e-mailing and online photofinishing, and an inkjet or thermal printer is needed for at-home printing. Version 2.1, also available for download from Kodak.com, is compatible with Macintosh systems.
