New Site Enhancements Unveiled Including GameSpot Download Manager and Advanced Customization and Personalization Tools
GameSpot (www.gamespot.com), a property of CNET Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: CNET), today announced its plans to deliver comprehensive coverage of the 2003 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) with pre-show coverage beginning May 11 and continuing throughout the week. More than 20 GameSpot editors, known for their expert commentary and game reviews, will be scouring the show floor to report on the latest products and trends. GameSpot.com will feature news, access to games information like previews, screenshots and movies, as well as a "GameSpot at E3" page that contains a continually updated list of games being released at the show.
In addition, GameSpot Complete subscribers can access exclusive live Webcasts of key E3 events at www.gamespot.com. Live coverage kicks off May 13 with the Sony press conference at 9:00 a.m. PDT, followed by the Nintendo press conference at 11:30 a.m. PDT. Subscribers also get six hours of video from the show floor, developer interviews, and booth tours.
Site Enhancements
Inspired by months of user feedback, GameSpot today also announced significant site enhancements for both its free and premium users. The new GameSpot Download Manager lets registered users download game demos, gameplay movies, patches and trailers fast, free and without waiting in line. Site enhancements also include new customization features, such as the ability to track specific games, better search functionality, as well as more reviews, previews, screenshots, links, promotions, and forums.
New features for GameSpot Complete subscribers include GameSpot Live videos, high-quality strategy and buying guides, member-only discounts, VIP privileges, and access to special events.
"E3 is like the Super Bowl of the gaming industry and GameSpot has gone to great lengths to make sure we deliver gamers comprehensive coverage," said Greg Kasavin, executive editor of GameSpot. "The addition of the new GameSpot Download Manager paired with our extensive reporting is going to give gamers at home as much access to E3 as someone right on the show floor."
