Journal Article Delivery Engine (JADE) to facilitate fast
and efficient publication service for authors and editors
of 130 journals
FatWire Software, a leading provider of strategic enterprise content management solutions, announced today that its Content Server product running on the IBM (NYSE: IBM) WebSphere(R) Application Server, has been chosen by leading international management and library and information services publisher, Emerald Group Publishing Limited (www.emeraldinsight.com). The technology will be used to build and deliver JADE, an online article submission and peer review service for authors and editors of their 130 global business management and library services journals. The new solution is expected to be launched Q1, 2004 with a complete rollout for all Emerald journals by the end of 2004.
Powered by Content Server, JADE will be used to reengineer Emerald's publishing supply chain and quality assure its peer review process. Authors will benefit from the ability to independently submit articles online and conduct peer reviews facilitating quality improvement and speeding journal publication. Emerald chose Java based Content Server for JADE because of its capacity to scale, its intuitive user interface, robust features, and ability to streamline site production.
Content Server will ultimately support the publishing of the 130 Emerald publications with titles including Management Decision, European Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Documentation, and Library Management. These publications currently attract editorial contributions from world-respected authors such as Cary Cooper, Peter Drucker, and Edgar Schein.
