IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for technology markets, and International Biometric Group (IBG), the leading biometric consulting firm, today unveiled conference session details for the upcoming BiometricsWorld Executive Conference(TM) on Biometrics in Financial Service Applications. In a series of case studies and presentations by industry leaders, participants will explore new biometric applications designed specifically for the financial industry, examine the challenges associated with their implementation, and determine the real ROI of biometric technology.
Taking place November 19-20 at the Embassy Suites in New York City, this BiometricsWorld Executive Conference will address the unique needs of financial institutions who are considering the deployment of biometrics, as well as biometric vendors and integrators developing technology for the financial community. Both audiences will have a unique opportunity to meet and learn from each other during this two-day conference.
More than a dozen presentations will cover topics ranging from Internet banking to privacy concerns to check cashing applications. Highlights include:
-- Relevant Biometric Standards Development, presented by Jeff
Stapleton, manager of Information Risk Management at KPMG LLP.
This session will look at the need for biometric standards to
spur a greater acceptance of biometric technologies within the
financial sector.

practices for ensuring that biometric deployments protect
rather than undermine personal and informational privacy.

Biometrics at the Desktop, presented by Harvey Bondar, vice
president of DigitalPersona. This case study will demonstrate
how one bank has eliminated passwords and their resulting
vulnerabilities to tighten security, improve regulatory
compliance and reduce IT support costs.
-- Biometric Authentication Over the Telephone, presented by
Chuck Buffum, CEO of Vocent Solutions Inc. Buffum will use a
case study to demonstrate how voice verification technology
can be used to enable secure telephone-based financial
transactions.
"Financial institutions are realizing the tremendous benefits of biometrics applications, which can secure and improve their existing business while also enabling new services for customers," said International Biometric Group Partner Samir Nanavati. "At the upcoming BiometricsWorld Executive Conference, we'll look at ways to address some of the current challenges and uncover the applications that will provide real return-on-investment."
