MILFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 12, 2003

The United States Basketball League, Inc. (OTC:BB: USBL), in conjunction with the Oklahoma Storm, announced today that 14 year NBA veteran Shawn Kemp has joined the ownership group of the Oklahoma Storm for the 2004 USBL season. Kemp joins current NBA star Eddie Robinson, of the Chicago Bulls, in the Oklahoma Storm ownership group.

Kemp has been a six-time NBA All-Star and was a member of "Dream Team II" that won the gold medal at the 1994 World Championship of Basketball in Toronto. The 34-year old Kemp has played for the Seattle Supersonics, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Portland Trailblazers and the Orlando Magic. His career numbers include a 14.6 points per game and 8.4 rebounds average during the regular season. In 88 playoff games he averaged 17.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. He averaged 23 points and 10 rebounds in the 1996 NBA Finals against the Chicago Bulls.

"I look forward to working with the ownership group, including Eddie Robinson and James Bryant." Kemp stated. "It's seems to be a trend that NBA players are getting involved in ownership of USBL franchises." "I have always been interested in being involved in the development of young basketball talent." Kemp commented. "The Storm is one of the most successful franchises in minor league basketball and I look forward to being a part of it."

"The Oklahoma Storm's goal has been to give NBA players ownership opportunities in professional basketball." Storm General Manager Tom Nelson said. "Bringing Shawn Kemp into the Storm family will help the franchise immensely."

"I am very excited to have Shawn on board as a USBL owner. His involvement in the USBL will hopefully attract other professional athletes to consider the USBL as an attractive investment," stated USBL Founder and Commissioner Daniel T. Meisenheimer III.

The United States Basketball League (USBL) headquartered in Milford, CT, is the only publicly traded sports league in the world today. Currently the USBL consists of 10 teams located in Eastern and Midwestern regions of the U.S. To date, 138 players have jump-started their professional careers in the USBL on their way to the NBA.
