Federated Announces New Bon-Macy's Furniture Gallery

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 19, 2003

Federated Department Stores, Inc. (NYSE:FD) (PCX:FD) today announced plans for a new freestanding Bon-Macy's furniture gallery near Columbia Center in Kennewick, WA.

The new store will occupy 40,000 square feet of retail space on one level in the Tapteal Business Center just north of the Bon-Macy's full-line Columbia Center store. Construction on the new furniture gallery is scheduled to begin in summer 2004 and a store opening is planned for early 2005.

"Our new furniture gallery will bring the whole world of Bon-Macy's to our Kennewick customers," said Daniel H. Edelman, chairman of Bon-Macy's. "The gallery will showcase our complete assortment of furniture, bedding, rugs, mattresses and home accessories in unique lifestyle settings."

Bon-Macy's, a division of Federated, is headquartered in Seattle. The division currently operates 50 stores in five states, with 2002 annual sales of nearly $1 billion.
