SAVANNAH, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 2003
GO Software Inc., a subsidiary of Return On Investment Corporation (OTCBB: ROIE) and a leading provider of POS (point-of-sale) payment processing software to more than 85,000 businesses, announced that its credit card processing software, PCCharge Payment Server, is integrated into Mid-America's POS solution. Mid-America is marketing the integrated solution to 700 McDonald's franchises, enabling the restaurants to process electronic payment transactions faster than cash transactions.
PCCharge Payment Server(TM), a Windows(R)-based system that processes credit cards, ATM/debit cards and check guarantee services, integrates into other POS systems. The integrated system enables a more efficient process that records the electronic transaction like any other front-counter transaction. The integrated system eliminates the need to re-key payment information and reduces processing time, compared to non-integrated POS solutions with stand-alone modules that are not tied into the same system processing all of the restaurant's other payments.
The Mid-America/GO Software integrated product significantly reduces the time it takes to process a transaction, taking approximately three to five seconds for approved credit card authorization. The integrated system significantly reduces opportunities for operator error and automatically reads the amount due from the POS solution. The integrated solution also enables franchisees to increase sales and improve customer service.
"When an establishment accepts credit cards, the average ticket size goes up. We anticipate a 40 percent increase in the average ticket size for those franchises implementing credit card processing for the first time," said Mark Wells, CFO, Mid-America, Inc. "GO Software's PCCharge opens up new opportunities for revenue growth, and faster check out times mean improved customer service. We're getting a great response from our customers."
Mid-America recently presented the integrated solution to its 700 McDonald's customers as an upgrade to its current POS solution. The company began the product rollout in July and currently has installed the product in 50 franchises nationwide.
"The Mid-America/GO system is virtually bullet proof," said Gary Moulton, operator/owner of six McDonald's franchises in Winter Haven, Fla. "We've seen operator error drop to zero, and we're able to process credit card transactions faster than cash. In addition, we save money usually spent on bank fees, because we're handling less cash."
In addition to decreased processing errors and increased transaction speed and revenue growth, GO Software's PCCharge provides McDonald's franchises with direct access to all major bank processors.
"We deliver value by providing additional functionality, universal interface capabilities and access to a multitude of payment processors," said Tony Abruzzio, executive vice president and general manager, GO Software, Inc. "The partnership with Mid-America links GO Software with a trusted name in POS and brings us another step closer to our goal of expanding our restaurant industry presence."
