IPSWICH, Mass. and STRATHAM, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 6, 2003
ABC Films Bride and Groom During Extraordinary Sunset
Beach/Winter Wonderland Wedding
Uniting two contrasting seasons to capture the ideal wedding visions of Dawn Marie Scarpini and Brendan Sean Sullivan, New England Destinations, an exhibitions and conference management company servicing the New England area, transformed Steep Hill Beach on the Crane Estate in Ipswich, Mass. and the Golf Club of New England in Stratham, NH, into an enchanted realm -- to be profiled on ABC's Primetime with Diane Sawyer.
"From an early age, most brides form picture images of their perfect wedding scenario, but seldom get to experience the dream," said newly married bride, Dawn Marie Scarpini. "This situation is compounded further when the groom also has strong wedding-day preferences that differ from the bride's. New England Destinations fused our contrasting wedding scenarios into one, magical event we were able to share with our loved ones!"
Saturday, October 4th, at sunset, the bride arrived at Steep Hill Beach flanked by her bridesmaids accessorized with hand-muff warmers and leis of tropical flowers. She joined the groom at a candle-illuminated, sandcastle altar surrounded by guests wearing Hawaiian-type shirts and dresses.
Afterwards, at the Golf Club of New England, wedding guests entered the reception through an ice tunnel and were welcomed by glistening ornaments, an ice sculpture and Christmas trees adorned with stockings containing wedding favors. The revelers feasted on a traditional New England lobster/clambake and a replica of the sandcastle altar wedding cake.
Chronicling the wedding for an anticipated November airing date, two film crews from ABC's Primetime followed the couple and New England Destinations as they planned the event, during the matrimony and subsequent reception.
Although the memorable event was a success, challenges had to be overcome first. Kristin Sullivan-Crowell, owner of New England Destinations explains, "The challenge can be equated to taking a beach scene as viewed through a snow-globe and turning it into a life-size wedding landscape. We had to canvass New England to find companies with very specific skill sets and contract vendors from Boston, Mass., to York, ME. Our organization prides itself on obtaining a thorough understanding of the client's needs and executing a turn-key plan for success."
