MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 2003

Mobile Digital Media (MDM), the largest publisher of AAA branded consumer software for Palm, Windows Mobile and Nokia Series 60 phones on expansion media, today announced that Age of Empires(R) Pocket PC Edition, based on the award winning Age of Empires games for Windows franchise, will begin arriving in stores in October.

Under a worldwide agreement with Microsoft Game Studios, MDM will publish, manufacture, distribute and market Age of Empires Pocket PC Edition on industry standard MultiMediaCards, which pop into the expansion slot on most Windows Mobile powered mobile devices and require no downloading, installations or hot-synching to use.

"We're bringing this wildly popular real-time strategy game to Windows Mobile devices in a graphically rich environment as close to the PC edition as possible," said Kurt Baumberger, co-founder and chief marketing officer, MDM. "Now people can take Age of Empires on the road for a continual strategic challenge."

Age of Empires Pocket PC Edition expansion card published by MDM is based on the original Age of Empires game where players are challenged to build tribes into great civilizations and the Rise of Rome expansion pack, which features the Roman Empire, all on one card.

Other exclusive features for the MDM Age of Empires Pocket PC Edition plug-and-play card include:

-- 12 musical tracks from the original PC game;

-- All sound effects at full 11 khz sampling; and

-- All full video segments from the PC game.

In addition, users can save games in progress to their mobile device Random Access Memory, so they can play a continual game over time.

Suggested retail price for Age of Empires Pocket PC Edition is $29.95.
