Great American Group and Gordon Brothers Partners Commence Going-Out-Of-Business Sale for Workbench

Business Wire, Sept 23, 2003

Business Editors

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 23, 2003

Joint venture partners, Great American Group and Gordon Brothers Partners, two of the nation's leading asset management firms, have begun the orderly liquidation for 29 Workbench furniture stores across the country. Open since 1955, Workbench will be closing its doors after a long-standing reputation of providing consumers with modern, versatile furniture.

An estimated $11 million of contemporary, well-designed furniture will be liquidated during the sale period. Customers will be able to take advantage of great discounts off wall units, entertainment centers, home office systems, bedroom furniture, living and dining room sets, sectional furniture, and much more furniture designed exclusively for Workbench.

The sale is scheduled to start on Tuesday, September 23, 2003, and is expected to run for approximately 8 weeks. Stores are located predominately on the East Coast, including Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. "We anticipate the sale will be very successful and look forward to providing customers with great values on high-quality furniture for every room in their home," stated Jeff Yellen, President of Great American Group.
