In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988 - 2003, a compilation of the seminal American rock band's most familiar and beloved hits, will be released on Warner Bros. Records, October 28th. The collection will also include two new originals -- "Bad Day" and "Animal" -- especially recorded for the Best Of package.

In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988 - 2003 features the following selections: "Man On The Moon," "The Great Beyond," "Bad Day," "What's The Frequency Kenneth?," "All The Way To Reno (You're Gonna Be A Star)," "Losing My Religion," "E-bow The Letter," "Orange Crush," "Imitation Of Life," "Daysleeper," "Animal," "The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight," "Stand," "Electrolite," "All The Right Friends," "Everybody Hurts," "At My Most Beautiful," "Nightswimming."

R.E.M. has made available every selection of In Time on the band's website, remhq.com, at the rate of one every two days for the past month.

Additionally, a special limited edition of In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988 - 2003 will also be released, featuring a second disc of rarities and b-sides. Included are the following: an acoustic version of "Pop Song '89," the acoustic b-side of the original "Pop Song '89;" "Turn You Inside Out" from 1990's Tourfilm; "Fretless" from 1991's soundtrack to Until The End Of The World; "Chance," the b-side of "Everybody Hurts;" "It's A Free World Baby, from the 1993 Coneheads soundtrack; "Drive" from 1994's Live Greenpeace; "Star Me Kitten" with William Burroughs from 1996's X-Files; "Revolution" from the soundtrack to the 1997 film Batman And Robin; "Leave," from the 1997 film A Life Less Ordinary; the 1998 Oxford American version of "Why Not Smile"; "The Lifting" and "Beat A Drum," both demo version b-sides from "Imitation Of Life"; "2JN," a b-side from "Imitation Of Life"; "The One I Love," live from The Museum Of Television and Radio; and "Country Feedback," Live from Wisebaden, Germany.

VH1 added the video for their first single, "Bad Day" into Large Rotation immediately following the premiere on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 Degrees(a) on September 19th. The band is scheduled to perform on the Late Show with David Letterman on October 2nd and The Today Show on October 3rd before winding down their highly acclaimed North American tour in Atlanta on October 11th. Immediately following, they embark on a two-week European promo tour before returning to Los Angeles the week of October 27th in preparation for the release.
