RetailVision Spring

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 21, 2004

Awards to Recognize More Than a Dozen Dealers for Achievements

as Preferred e-Tailers for Vendors Linking, Sales Opportunities

and Reported Sales

Channel Intelligence, Inc., whose deep linking technology, data reporting and analysis capabilities help increase online and offline selling opportunities between manufacturers and dealers, will present its Top Dealer Awards to 13 companies during RetailVision(R) Spring, a Gartner event to be held April 26-29, 2004, in Indian Wells, Cal.

Honored during the show will be: CDW, Best Buy, PC Connection, Buy.com, Amazon.com, PC Mall, Insight, Ritz Camera, Provantage, CompUSA, Circuit City, Staples and Office Depot.

The awards are divided into five categories. Individual dealers will be receiving awards covering one or more areas. The Channel Intelligence Top Dealer Awards are based on aggregated data collection and statistical analyses. They will recognize achievements in online and offline retailing covering the 2 quarters leading up to the close of the first quarter of 2004.

Channel Intelligence monitored the online behaviors of shoppers and used the quantitative data it collected to tabulate the performance of each e-tailer against criteria established for each award category. Tabulations pertaining to all e-tailers were completed by mid-April 2004.

CDW will be named a winner in all four categories next week. Taking home honors in three categories each will be Amazon.com, Best Buy, Buy.com and PC Connection. PC Mall will be named a Channel Intelligence Top Dealer in two categories. Capturing a Top Dealer Award in one category each will be Circuit City, CompUSA, Insight, Provantage, Ritz Camera, Staples and Office Depot.

Categories Cover Heavy Use of Linking Tools

The first two award categories, Preferred e-Tailer-Vendors Linking and Preferred Brick-and-Mortar-Vendors Linking, will honor retailers helping to increase sales opportunities by forging stronger channel links. The e-Tailer links enable shoppers to click and be directed from a product information page at a vendor Web site to the dealer site purchase page for a specific product. The brick-and-mortar links add the ability for shoppers to "click to locate the product." By adding their zip code, the shopper is taken from a product information page at a vendor Web site to a page listing the closest retail stores and the availability for that specific product at each store.

Number of Sales Opportunities and Value of Sales Opportunities award categories will see Channel Intelligence saluting those retailers which have seized the highest number of shoppers expressing a potential interest in making a purchase and the dollar value of those opportunities, respectively.

Reported sales, the final category, will honor those retailers reporting the highest volume of sales versus the dollar value of sales opportunities created through effective, shopper-interest driven deep linking capabilities.

"Our Channel Intelligence Top Dealer Awards will honor top retailers and their leaders, the men and women who are enabling e-commerce to soar," says Rob Wight, President and CEO of Channel Intelligence. "E-commerce sales are topping the $1 billion mark each week thus far during 2004. It's these dealers who see the vision and get the e-revenue pathways built. Equally important, they've recognized that online buyers want those paths to be easy to find and use, making their shopping faster, more convenient and more satisfying so they'll be motivated to come back."
