TOPIC: Although billions of dollars was put toward airport security, government investigations found that harmful objects are still getting by screeners, according to an article by The Associated Press. The investigations found that both government and private security employees were lax. As a result of the findings, Rep. John Mica, R-Fla., has called for an urgent meeting, within the next nine days, with Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge to develop a plan to tighten airport security.
