SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 26, 2004

IDT(TM) (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.) (Nasdaq:IDTI), a leading communications IC company, today announced that two new members have joined the IDT board of directors. Ronald Smith, senior vice president at Intel Corporation, and Dave Roberson, president and chief operating officer (COO) of Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), were appointed to the board during the company's fourth fiscal quarter of 2004.

"Ron and Dave bring almost 50 years of experience at two of the largest global electronics solutions providers," said Greg Lang, president and CEO of IDT. "Their management expertise in the wireless and storage industries extends the breadth of knowledge on the board, and we are very pleased to leverage the skills of these industry veterans."

Smith Brings Wireless Communications Expertise to IDT Board

Smith has worked at Intel Corporation for the past 26 years and brings extensive, broad-based semiconductor experience to the IDT board, particularly in wireless communications and memory technology. In his active role as senior vice president and general manager of the wireless communications and computing group, he drives all business responsibilities for the company's cellular and 2.5G and 3G wireless communications products including chipsets, reference designs and software. He also managed the flash business, digital signal processing activities, Intel(R) XScale(R) Microarchitecture, StrongARM(R) processors and low-power Intel Architecture handhelds. Prior to this role, Smith held senior executive positions in several divisions throughout Intel including the Computing Enhancement Group, the PCI Components Division, the Programmable Logic Device Division and the Logic Technology Development Group.

Smith is very active with industry organizations such as the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) where he most recently served as chairman of the technology strategy committee. Smith received a doctorate and a master's degree in physics from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College.

Roberson's Strength in Storage Market Adds to IDT Board

Dave Roberson has been with HDS since 1981, and has been COO since 2000. He has helped lead the company through two strategic transitions. In 1989, HDS became a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., and in 2000, HDS shifted its focus from storage subsystems and mainframe computers to become solely focused on storage. Through that period, HDS became the acknowledged market leader in large-scale enterprise storage, and achieved a position of thought leadership in the industry. In recognition of his leadership, Roberson took on the role of president in 2002.

Roberson plays an active role in the industry, sitting on the board of directors of RagingWire. He is also a member of The State of Colorado Science and Technology Commission. He received a bachelor's degree in social ecology from the University of California, Irvine, and a Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University.
