Powered by Technology from NMS Communications, CreaLog Delivers Europe's Most Advanced High Volume Network Voice Portal to Arcor

Business Wire, August 16, 2004

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Germany's 2nd Largest Telecom Provider Now Offering Hosted Solutions for Businesses, Handling Up to 100,000 Calls Per Minute for Tele-voting, Gaming Services

NMS Communications (NASDAQ: NMSS), the leading provider of technologies and solutions for enhanced services and efficient networks, and CreaLog, a leading European supplier of voice portal solutions, today announced that Arcor AG, the second largest telecom operator in Germany, is now providing a range of new voice and data services to businesses and consumers using CreaLog's high-volume voice portal based on NMS' OpenAccess(TM) products (www.nmscommunications.com/OpenAccess). Services now offered by Arcor include:

--Content management services, allowing businesses to update and manage content on their own campus server or use a web browser to deliver this content via web or phone in natural language through Arcor's voice portal

--Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system services, including intelligent call routing and outbound telemarketing

--Value-added interactive services for TV and radio, such as voting and gaming

The high performance CreaLog system, built on NMS' flexible, open, and highly scalable OpenAccess platform, has demonstrated its ability to handle up to 100,000 calls per minute, a necessity for the mass calling events such as opinion polls, charity events, gaming and telemarketing campaigns increasingly being used by smart operators like Arcor to stimulate traffic and generate revenue. And because CreaLog's system is VoiceXML-based, Arcor's customers can administer and manage both CRM applications, content management systems, and interactive events completely and in real time through a web browser.

"The German telecom market, with its very sophisticated business and consumer segments, is extremely competitive," said Walter Vorderhuber, product development manager for voice-activated value-added services at Arcor. "The high performance and flexibility of the NMS-based CreaLog system has enabled Arcor to step ahead of the others in offering a variety of innovative voice and data services that generate increased traffic for Arcor while helping our customers cost-effectively do the things they need to in order to grow their businesses."

"By offering next-gen voice-activated services like voting and gaming, along with business solutions like CRM and content management services, Arcor is rapidly making its mark as one of the most innovative fixed-line service providers in Europe," said Michael Kloos, CEO, CreaLog. "With our long-time partner NMS, we're proud to provide the foundation for Arcor's compelling new offerings."
