Cybermation Identified As Selected Vendor in Event-Driven Job Scheduling
Business Wire, August 18, 2004
NEW YORK -- Cybermation, a leading developer of enterprise job scheduling and software change management solutions, today announced that it has been identified by the IT industry research firm Gartner, as a selected vendor in the emerging technology of event-driven job scheduling.
Gartner recently published the report Hype Cycle for IT Operations Processes and Tools, 2004,(1) which charts the lifecycle of particular product segments in the IT industry. The report is designed to help CIOs and IT managers in evaluating the types of software tools and technology currently being offered.
"Event-driven job schedulers are tools that provide batch application integration capabilities to automate straight-through processing requirements based on events and schedules," according to the report. "They manage dependencies across applications and infrastructure platforms, both within and between companies."
Cybermation's ESP job scheduling solutions provide event-driven automation based on application and infrastructure events. This means that when a specified event occurs, such as an incoming web transaction or a database update, they respond instantly in real-time. Traditional job schedulers are time-driven and can only trigger workload based on specific time periods or dates.
Due to their event-driven capabilities, both ESP Workload Manager for z/OS environments and ESP Espresso for distributed environments are vital components for IT infrastructures designed to support the growth of the Real-Time Enterprise.
"Cybermation understands the importance of up-to-the-minute information in our global economy," said Ray Nissan, Cybermation's CEO. "Our ESP job scheduling solutions reduce latency and enable near real-time processing, leading to a growth in enterprise performance."
