CORT Furniture Rental Corporation Aids Hurricane Charley Victims

RALEIGH, N.C. -- CORT Furniture Rental today announced that it is mobilizing its operations nationwide to aid victims of Hurricane Charley. CORT will help displaced persons and businesses locate immediate temporary housing and office space, as well as provide rental and sales of furniture and housewares for short or long term needs.
In Tampa, CORT's emergency assistance number is (813)933-1731. CORT employees are available Monday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the disaster period CORT will extend service hours as necessary by appointment.
CORT Furniture Rental is already working with national and local relief agencies, insurance companies, and individuals to help locate and furnish temporary homes and offices for storm victims. The company's relationships with apartment communities, building managers, and third party relocation firms throughout the storm ravaged areas enable them to quickly locate and help furnish temporary facilities. CORT is able to get large quantities of office and home furniture to disaster sites quickly from major manufacturers because they are one of the largest furniture buyers in the country.
Disaster victims will also receive a 10% discount at CORT Furniture Rental Clearance Centers when they use Red Cross vouchers to purchase previously leased home and office furniture.
CORT has worked with disaster victims nationwide, and has extensive experience in providing support to the Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA) and major National insurance companies to help meet the needs created by large scale property losses.
