IDS Scheer's ARIS Toolset Becomes First Business Process Management Platform to Support All BPM Standards; BPML, BPMN and BPEL Now Supported as Well as Future BPD Metamodel Specification
Business Wire, August 2, 2004
BERWYN, Pa. -- IDS Scheer North America, the leading provider of business process excellence services and tools, today announced that its award-winning ARIS Toolset has become the first - and only - business process management tool to support all the major BPM standard in the industry: BPML, BPMN and BPEL.
The BPML (Business Process Modeling Language) and BPMN (Business Process Modeling Notation) standards are set by the Business Process Management Initiative (BPMI.org), a non-profit corporation that empowers companies of all sizes, across all industries, to develop, operate and improve business processes that span multiple applications and business partners, behind the firewall and over the Internet.
BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) is being driven by the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS), a not-for-profit, international consortium that drives the development, convergence, and adoption of e-business standards. SAP uses BPEL as their key standard for their Exchange Infrastructure (XI) within SAP NetWeaver. IDS Scheer recently announced its ARIS for SAP NetWeaver solution that provides the components to design and architect business process models that are seamlessly integrated with the SAP NetWeaver process configuration and execution models using BPEL.
"Being the first -- and only -- company to provide support for all the relevant BPM standards is testament to the flexibility and scalability of our award-winning ARIS Toolset, a solution that has set the gold standard in the industry," commented Dr. Mathias Kirchmer, CEO of IDS Scheer North America. "Our executives are integrally involved with these esteemed standards bodies to drive and shape the various standards initiatives required to help enterprises of all sizes achieve business process excellence."
According to Georg Simon, IDS Scheer's Managing Director of BPM and BPMI board member for the past two years, IDS Scheer customers will also benefit from the support for these emerging BPM standards. "We are providing added value to our customers with a solution that seamlessly integrates with cutting edge integration and application platforms such as SAP NetWeaver while offering multi-faceted support for all BPM standards," he added.
IDS Scheer is also working with Object Management Group (OMG) on the BPD (Business Process Definition) metamodel next generation BPM specification. OMG is an open membership, not-for-profit consortium that produces and maintains computer industry specifications for interoperable enterprise applications. "This initiative demonstrates how we have developed our solution to be future-ready to accommodate the BPM standards of today and tomorrow," added Dr. Kirchmer.
